Natural Box


Specifications

Plain obeche box moulding can be stained to suit your work or order the pre sprayed opaque white and solid black, shown on Lacquered Box page. Shows some texture, wood grain, through the finish. Rebate depth 27mm, outside edge 34mm deep, 24mm front face.

Use with our Acid free paper wrapped fillets to make a box interior or frame with a Matt mount.


Bevelled Edge


Specifications

A plain bevelled edge moulding in Obeche. Will paint or stain very well, rebate depth of 15mm unsuitable for box framing but looks great matt mounted. Barewoods hand finished in a colour of your choice. Across the front face this moulding is 45mm wide and 20mm deep at the outside edge. The rebate depth is 10mm.

 




Cushion



Specifications

Plain Obeche mouldings will be finished - coloured, stained and waxed to suit, see finishes available. This large sweeping cushion moulding has a rebate depth of 12mm will suit a matt mounted frame style or can be used without glazing for a panel frame. At the widest this moulding is 55mm with just 12mm depth at the outside edge.




Reverse

Specifications

The reverse is a plain obeche with a slanted outside edge. The rebate depth is 15mm will suit a matt mounted style frame or can be used without glazing for a panel frame. All barewoods are hand finished to suit your work. Across the front face of this moulding is 50mm wide with just 8mm depth at the outside edge.

 



Scoop

Specifications

A rebate depth of 19mm can accommodate some standard bar canvases and so can be used unglazed - refer to price table C. With this rebate we can make a box frame or a Matt mounted style frame. The plain Obeche will be stained, painted and finished to suit your work. Across the widest point the front face of this moulding is 40mm and the outside edge depth is 38mm.

 


Ash Box

Specifications

The beautiful grain in Ash can be left as it is, it reponds particularly well to waxes which pick out the grain. Traditionally Lime waxed for a white Ash finish
Use with our Acid free paper wrapped fillets to make a box interior 12mm Fillets in ivory, white or black which we can match to the mountboard to make a beautiful float box frame. Rebate depth of 28mm, outside edge is 34mm deep and the front face 19mm.

 



Flat Tulip

Specifications

Tulip wood - or Poplar - is a silvery grained hard wood, it's beautiful grain patterns respond well to block colour as they will show through a white or black finish. This wide flat profile is the one we used in the frame which appears at the beginning of this section, there the frame was finished with two coats of lime wax for a washed white. Rebate depth of 15mm suitable for a matt mounted style frame, the outside edge is 18mm and the front face is 45mm wide.

 




Deep Rebate Tulip

Specifications

A deep rebate version of the tulipwood. Use with our Acid free paper wrapped fillets to make a box interior 12mm or 18mm fillets in ivory, white or black. The rebate depth is 40mm and the outside edge is 45mm, the front face is 19mm. Responds particularly well to lime wax, opaque white wash and wax or solid black and wax.

 



Slim Tulip

Specifications

This is a smaller - and cheaper - version of the deep rebate moulding above. It is best suited to smaller works and can still be made into a small box frame using 6mm or 12mm fillets. May also be used as a matt mounted style of frame. Rebate depth of 25mm, outside edge 30mm, front face 14mm. Best suited to wax and solid colour, all barewoods will be finished to suit your work.
